Ken's Bulletin 03/2010
It has been a while! I wanted to begin by talking about teeth. At the moment I sit with a large part of one of my top teeth missing courtesy of a piece of toast about 14 days ago! Being the 4th tooth along it is not obvious, except of course there is a large hole where part of the tooth is missing!!!
Having had to give last week a miss at my Dentist as they had a week of children in for half term, I finally arrived on Monday for the verdict.
The choices are: Extraction £80, A plate and false tooth extra £400, or root canal work and a crown £720!!! All you young players out there.....if you don't make it as a footballer become a dentist! Looks likely that I will have a nice gap which the teeth either side will fight to fill! Any other suggestions gratefully received!
Today, car service bill is popped through letter box......£336!!
Last weekend Mrs B's Birthday and we spent the weekend in Brighton. Would be rude to divulge cost but was excellent value! Donatello's restaurant in the Lanes in Brighton a great value Italian restaurant. 3 courses off the A La Carte for £8.95!!!!
This weekend we are off to Liverpool for the semi final with the County lads. I went up a couple of weeks ago with Mr Boswell to watch the quarter final that saw Liverpool win 3-0. It was hard to learn a great deal, but the team will all have to play well to get through. I am confident that the performance that we gave against Middlesex despite winning 2-1 will not be matched as it has been described as "abysmal" in some quarters!! I think I have some competition at last in the snoring stakes Mr B!!
Next Saturday sees my 50th! It is so hard to think it is happening to me! I don't feel 50, I don't want to be 50, but hey my teeth have started falling out, my knee was in agony after Mrs B walked us 7 miles on Friday and again on Saturday in Brighton, and I keep falling asleep watching TV and the kids still keeping turn the lights off so I don't wake up until 3am in the morning!! So yes I am getting old!!
Congratulations to Ben......well documentated elsewhere on the site, but a fantastic opportunity for him.
I haven't mentioned the weather. It is chucking it down as I speak so what we can do apart from decide games by playing water polo! I know how frustrating it has become now and we really need the weather to dry up.
Enjoy your football if you beat the weather and more news soon after Liverpool! Cheers. Ken
