Bromley FC was celebrating this week after being awarded the coveted FA Charter Standard Award.

The Charter Standard Scheme is the best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League.

As a benchmark for quality the award will improve the playing experience for all.

A delighted Club chairman, Paul Greenwood said “This award displays the clubs commitment to grassroots football in the area and it is pleasing to see that the Clubs hard work has been rewarded with such a prestigious award”.

The Youth Section, which was formed in 2001, will be running 8 teams, from Under 11’s through to Under 18’s for the upcoming campaign and has over 150 members as well as a dedicated team of volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure to club has always progressed.

Richard Kemp, Youth Secretary said “It is a testament to the hard work of all the backroom staff at the Club that we have achieved this Award. Six months of hard work has come together just at the right time as we start our pre-season preparations. We must thank Lee at the KCFA for all of his advice and assistance over the past months which has proved invaluable. At a time when infrastructure is so important, especially when dealing with young people, as a Club we can now show that we follow all FA guidelines relating to Good Practice.

Kent County Football Development Officer, Lee Suter praised the club by saying “Bromley FC has worked extremely hard to meet The FA’s criteria and having this award will benefit everyone involved within the club as well as the local community”

The Kent County FA are committed to club development and have set an ambitions target for having 75% of mini soccer and youth teams playing within a Charter Standard Club by 2012.

Suter went onto say “Club development is very important to the Kent County FA and as an Association we are committed to football development and will continue to work with clubs in order to achieve the Charter Award”.
