Kent County Under 18 Representaive Team -News
Our Under 18 team last season managed to reach the FA County Youth Cup Final and win the South East Counties tournament for the first time since season 2002/03. It was also Kent's first time in the County Youth Cup Final since 1982.
Our aim this season is to try and go one better and win the FA County Youth Cup as well as defend the South East Counties trophy.
Our squad is already taking shape. We only lost 3 players who were Year 2 at the end of last season so we already have the current Under 18 squad and last season's Under 16 squad to choose from.
However, we will always look to select players who may not have trialled before or who have not come to our notice. We will have a trial game at some stage early in the season so if you are keen to join the County squad, please feel free to drop me an email at ken.brooke@kentyouthleague.co.uk We will ensure that all clubs are advised of any player that makes it into the squad.
We will play London, Surrey, Sussex, AFA, Royal Navy and Middlesex in the South East Counties. These matches are played on a Sunday and one midweek.
We are in the 2nd round of the FA County Youth Cup playing the winners of Devon vs Somerset (away) in November.
We also have a friendly arranged vs Essex and Kent Schools late in September.
We also have a link with Nike this season who are working with some of our players on future product design such as boots, kit bags, training equipment etc, which we hope will benefit the squad with chances to try out and use equipment before it is released to the public.
Coaches will continue to be Simon Balsdon and Gary Farr and Chris Watson has kindly agreed to remain as Physio for the season.
Providing you are registered to play with a Senior Club who is affiliated to the Kent County Football Association or you were born in the County of Kent you are eligible to play.
At County level we try to give the players the best of everything and certainly 2 weekends away in Jersey and the Isle Of Man were great fun to be part of.
