YOUTH LEAGUE OFFICIALS Maidstone vs Ebbsfleet U16s We are all quick to moan about teams when they get things wrong but today i reffed a game that would put some top flight teams to shame. Everything before and after the game was perfect. The game, well how do i start, not going to go into great detail but this was two teams who from start to finish played football to win. Even with 40 seconds to go until the end off the game [just like the whole off the match] you could not call who was going to win and at that point maidstone were 5-3 down. Well done to both sets off players and staff for commitment to the game and you are a credit to your clubs and the youth league. Look forward to refing you again. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IAIN SOUTHGATE
I am just writing to you to inform you that our referee today Gary Allen was fantastic, Mr Allen acted strictly professional in his build up prior to the game and at all times during the game. I feel really grateful this standard of Referee is at our disposal in the KYL and look forward to seeing him again should he be selected to Referee our game.
Regards
Will Graham

im writiing regarding our referee today at faversham town v dover athletic match at under 13 south group
mr simon jackson was outstanding in the way he handled the whole match in very bad weather
he was outstanding and made good clear decisions through out the match
it was a pleasure to have him take charge of the game with his friendly attitude through out his time at the ground and in this match

I just wanted to pay compliment to both the league and to Adam Back in particular in the quality of refereeing at the U15 North League game Cray wanderers v Long Lane at yesterdays game.
From the moment Adam arrived he was very proffesional and approachable, nothing was a problem.
From the first whistle to the last he was very fair with the boys and let the game flow very freely.
Adam applied the law when it needed to be applied and not once did any of the boys question his decisions as they were the right decisions everytime.
His style of refereeing made for a very free flowing game that all involved seemed to enjoy.
I would just like to say thank you from Cray Wanderers U15's.
Best Regards
Lee Anderson
Manager Cray Wanderers U15
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Considering we live in a world where people are so quick to complain I thought I would write to you today to give praise to one of your Referee's Harry Mills.
In horrendous conditions yesterday, with nonstop rain and wind, he managed the game with a smile on his face and was brilliant with the boys throughout.
It was not easy for anybody yesterday but this Ref was spot on with the way he handled such tough conditions so thought it was important to pass this on.
Many thanks.
Joe Brady
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just a quick word regarding our ref on sunday morning, Iain Southgate. Maidstone v Ebbsfleet U16`S
We had a cracking cup tie against Ebbsfleet at the Gallagher stadium,a wet and skiddy surface which made the game that much better,
2 physical teams, lots of great tackles and a ref with a lot of common sense !
Iain always talks to the players through the game & explains his decisions, which goes a long way and the players gain his respect very quickly,
even though we lost (Maidstone) this was a great game of football, and the standard of refereeing helped towards this being an enjoyable game.
We look forward to seeing Iain refereeing us again this season.
Thanks
Mark Gasson

This is very much a working Committee that administers over 170 teams from age groups 13 - 18 and is responsible for in excess of 3,500 players. You will need to commit to 3 Management Committee meetings per season, the Annual General Meeting, but most importantly be prepared to take on a role that will share the workload amongst our Officers.
Being comfortable with a computer is a necessity, as our website is the key component of ensuring that the League communicates with its member clubs. We are looking for individuals who can give a couple of hours a week to ensure that the League maintains its very high standards that it has set itself. At present, we are looking for an Assistant Website Manager, as well as someone to be involved with administering matchday cards.
If you are interested in joining us, please can you email our Chief Executive Colin Boswell, with a brief CV and areas that you would be interested in getting involved in. Please also copy me in as well.

Tullibody Community FC 1999 - Touring Next Year (2012-09-12) (2012-09-30)
Good afternoon
I write to you as Secretary and Coach at Tullibody Community FC 1999.
We are planning to bring the Team on a Tour in the South East of England during the dates 1st - 5th of July 2013, and I wondered you might consider passing on my details on to those Member Teams in your 1999 Age Group.
During the tour, we will be looking to play friendly matches on the evenings of the 2nd and 4th of July 2013, and wondered if any of your member Teams might be interested in hosting us on those evenings.
We play in the Forth Valley Football Development League 1999s League: http://bit.ly/PqSXfI and it would be fantastic if we could provide the boys with the extra experience of playing Teams from farther afield, as well as those life experiences that they will gain from such a trip.
Of course, should any teams be willing to play us on the aforementioned dates, we would be delighted to pay for any fees incurred.
Please feel free to call me on 07970 531163 at any time to discuss the matter further.
I look forward to speaking with you soon.
Yours in sport

FA Youth Cup - w/c 17th September (2012-09-09) (2012-09-30)
Congratulations to our clubs that progressed through the first preliminary round of the FA Youth Cup last week.
The fixtures for the 1st Round games commencing 17th September can be found on the website.
The League is fully supporting our clubs in this competition, and any team playing Monday 17th can apply to me for a postponement of their fixture on 16th September. We would not expect teams to play twice in 24 hours.
Where I have received confirmation of games to be played, I have entered the ground and the due date. The rest of the games where we are waiting for confirmation of dates to be played, can be found on 17th September page, but will not have grounds yet allocated.
If clubs can advise me in Andy's holidaying absence, then I will update the website.
Thanks

The League is delighted to announce that Corinthian F.C. have kindly agreed to sponsor a new initiative for the coming season to find the highest goal scorer in each Division at every age group.

There is now a tab on the results page which will show the leading scorers through the season. I will be meeting with our Sponsor shortly to determine what the winners will receive, but my peronal thanks to the Billings family for their generous sponsorship of this new initiative.

Ken's Bulletin - Number 1 (2012-08-31) (2012-09-30)
With the opening League games just one week away, I would like to say hi to all our new clubs, team managers, players and parents. Most of you know that I like to communicate with you all, and will be doing a bulletin from time to time across the season, which I hope will keep you updated with what is happening in the world of youth football and beyond.
The first thing I can see happening, is that many of our players will be removing ankle guards, and tapes around their socks at the start of the season. Referees have been instructed through the Rule change to ensure that any tape has to match the colour of the sock, and ankle guards should be the same colour or worn inside the sock. So if you have red socks it must be red tape, or you will be asked to remove the tape!
At Under 18 level, the League has agreed to join with the FA's two year experiment on introducing roll on and roll off subs for the under 18 age group. Teams playing in the League and in our Cup competition will be allowed to roll on and off 5 substitutes as happens from Under 13s - Under 16s. The FA have made it clear that this rule will NOT apply in the FA Youth Cup which starts next week. This competition is still 3 from 5 and no roll on roll off. I would also suggest that you check with the relevant County for County Cup competitions which of the above applies.
From this coming season youth players will now receive match bans rather than day bans to fall in line with Adult football. I will talk more about this later on, but this is a major change for us to deal with.
We will also be running a leading goalscorer tab on the website for all Divisions and competitions this season. We will be awarding a "golden boot" to each player who finishes top. I have 5 Committee members covering an age group each, so that all goalscorers can be entered quick and efficiently after games have been completed.
This is to be Colin Boswell's last season as Chief Executive of the Kent Youth League. Colin will be retiring at the end of this season, and this will also include the considerable work he also does for the Kent FA. The League Management Committee have voted unanimously for yours truly to take over next season from Colin, which if approved by the clubs I will happily accept the challenge. It does mean that I need help to run the website, and Will Sanderson has agreed to become my Assistant, so you can now email Will as well as myself if you want anything put on the website.
This coming season sees the largest number of teams involved since I became involved with the League, so it is imperative that we ensure that our very high standards on and off the pitch are maintained. Remember, it is about the lads who go out and entertain every Sunday, playing on the best possible facilities with the full support of Nike UK - very proud that after two years hard work off the pitch, that all teams will kick off with Nike footballs all supplied free of charge by Nike.
Nike would not put their name to our League if they didn't want to be linked with a League that tries to maintain the highest possible standards. I am sure that as teams and players you will not let us down.
I would like to wish all our teams the very best of luck for the season. You probably will not win every game..............you will probably think your team has not played their best if they lose..............you may think it is the Referee's fault.................but my message to all of you for this season, is that sometimes you get beat by a better team, and sometimes you don't get that bit of luck that you need...................but I am sure the following week in training you will put right what went wrong and go into the following game to put things right. All I would ask ALL teams to do, is to go over and shake hands with your opponents and the match officials at the end of the game. The one thing so apparent through the Summer, was the good will and sportmanship shown by competitors and crowds at the Olympics, and I am certain this is something football can learn at our level. Make sure you enjoy your game, and much better to smile than rage!!!!
I am off now to our second Under 16 County trial at Canterbury, where the best players in the South will be out to prove their worth in trying to get into the County team. I am sure we will be in for a decent night, and it will be good to compare with Wednesday's trial at Bromley.
Then off to Palace tomorrow to see if we can lose our "nil" points total vs Sheffield Wednesday!! I dreampt we won 5-1 last night................yes the mind is going..............but I might just stick a tenner on the result just in case :)
Off to watch my two lads play for Bromley Knights on Sunday in the Orpington and Bromley Men's League. They will be making their debuts for their new club, and it is a chance for me to watch them, and try to persuade some more Referees to join our League!!!!! Looking forward to that, and this will be after I host a cook a bbq for my daughter's 12 friends tomorrow night, all of whom are 18!!! They want me to make a fish bowl........filled with alcohol......and that was after I had bought the bowl and two fish to go in it !!!! Should be fun.
More soon..........

Assistant Referees Course - 17th September (2012-08-30) (2012-09-30)
Assistant Referees Course - 17th September 2012 at Corinthian Sports Club
Course starts at 7.30pm and will last about 1 ½ hours - 2 hours.
Following the success of the first course, the League will be running throughout the new season, courses for those Parents, helpers, Coaches etc who kindly run the line for teams on a Sunday.
The course will be run by our Referee Secretaries, and has been given full support by the County FA. The League will be asking ALL clubs to supply at least one person to come on to the course, as it is hoped in time, that we will have a complete register of volunteer Assistants applied to each team.
The League will offer an accreditation to those that come on the course, and the idea is to improve standards and to be able to keep a note of performances on a Sunday in a positive mode.
We are not making a charge for this course as it will be run by the League.
Will clubs please send any details of those people who wish to attend the course to:
corinthians@billingsgroup.co.uk
It will be first come first served, as we currently have 20 spaces to fill. All successful applicants will be advised by email, and directions given.

Fixture - Bulletin August 2012 (2012-08-27) (2012-09-30)
A warm welcome to everyone with what I hope is another really good season.
I would like to start by asking everybody to check your team home page. By now we should have only a few bits to change. All the Kent Youth League email addresses will be working in the next week. If there any changes please email both Barry & I and one of us will change the address. If you have any changes to the handbook please email me, and an update will be sent out before the start of the season.
Fixtures: As you can imagine with in excess of 170 teams, there will be things that will be missed, we would therefore ask that you check your teams fixtures at least every other day, as there may well be changes. If you have supplied pitch dates we will try to accommodate your requests, but this cannot be guaranteed. Please check September fixtures and let us know by 23.30 Monday 27th August if you have any problems, we will be sending a bulletin out to the handbook contact around the 1st September but please do not take this as gospel, the website should always be your first point of call, and as mentioned at both the Handbook and Managers meeting, we do update by 22.00 each day.
Please do not forget to read rule 10 re match confirmations, this will be strictly monitored again this season.
Cup Competitions: Please remember County Cups take priority and as Fixture Secretaries we do not require you to send us a fixture confirmation. Please ensure you read your County paperwork as referees fees are not the same as the league. If a fixture is postponed this will move to the next Sunday unless agreed by the County Football Association..
The League Cups Finals are already planned and the dates are in the League Handbook. If a League Cup fixture is postponed or cancelled for any reason, it does not automatically move 7 days as a league we have other things to consider before moving.
If you have any problems or questions please contact us.
